James Rixner PRESIDENT
Interior Designer James Rixner, an architectural aficionado, came to New York with a Master’s Degree in Urban Design. He switched professions and successfully established himself as a trend setting designer over the past 35 years. James has developed a sophisticated style that always amazes. His interiors epitomize refinement, elegance, serenity, and suitability. Equally comfortable working with antiques, chic mid-century furniture, or up to the minute contemporary pieces, his projects span many styles and time frames.
James has been a show-stopping presence with critical acclaim as a five-time featured Kips Bay Showhouse participant and as a three-time participant of Holiday House. His work has been prominently featured in major shelter publications including Traditional Home, New York Spaces, Interior Design, and The New York Times Magazine Design Section.
Mr. Rixner is a professional member of ASID, an NCIDQ certificate holder and also holds a New York State license as a Certified Interior Designer. Former positions include the interior design division of Bloomingdales, HLW Architects and Hinson & Company. He has also served as an instructor at Parson’s School of Design.
Catarine Wright PRINCIPAL DESIGNER
A completely committed Design Enthusiast, Catarine Wright is the Principal Designer at James Rixner Inc. She brings an impressive array of accomplishments to the firm. Ms. Wright is a graduate of The New York School of Interior Design and an Allied Member of ASID. In addition, she is a board Member of both the International Furnishings Design Association of New York and the Interior Design Society of New York City. She was recently honored to be a design participant in the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island.
